Below is a 1971 newspaper advertisement for the "El O'Livio" at Tamarama. It was advertised as located in Bondi. Two and three-bedroom apartments were on offer from $22 000, which would be equivalent to one spending $291 500 today (RBA Inflation Calculator).

Property Advert of the Week: 50 Vega Street, Revesby (1977)

Below is a newspaper advertisement for 50 Vega Street, Revesby. Two and three-bedroom townhouses were available from $38 750 to $43 250. According to the RBA Inflation Calculator, this would equate to the equivalent of $243 000 to $271 000.

Below is an advertisement for 3 Pacific Avenue in Tamarama dating from 1971.

What is disappointing is the absence of a photograph of the views from the apartments as it is located on one of the best streets in the suburb, which includes ocean views.

Apartment 14 was sold in January for around $1.5 million, which is a outstanding return on the $22 000 spent in 1971.

Property Advert of the Week: Parsonage Gardens, Castle Hill (1970)

This week, we head to Castle Hill where in 1970, Parkes were selling blocks of land as part of its Parsonage Gardens estate. The $6500 for your block would equate to just under $69 000 in today's money as based on the RBA Inflation Calculator.

Housing lots as part of the estate were located on Excelsior Avenue, Parsonage Road, Dresden Avenue and Milguy Avenue.
