2003: Ex Colonial Bank Branch at ex State Bank Centre (52 Martin Place)

In 2000, the Colonial State Bank (State Bank of NSW) merged with the Commonwealth Bank. As part of the merger, branches were closed. As the Commonwealth Bank had a branch directly opposite at 48 Martin Place, it was decided that the branch at 52 Martin Place should close.

Within 12 months of this photo being taken, the former branch would be home to the news department of Channel Seven. Seven News, Sunrise and other Seven News programs would be produced from there.
