Below is an article from The Sydney Morning Herald dated from 1990 featuring a design by a group of Architecture students from the University of New South Wales for the redevelopment of East Circular Quay.
This, along with other designs were displayed at the University of New South Wales and were not part of the formal design process that the developers (Colonial Mutual Life) had for the site.
The redevelopment of the site of the 1990's caused controversy, particularly the height of buildings, impact on the Botanic Gardens and the blocking of the view towards the Sydney Opera House from the Cahill Expressway.
What do you think of this scheme?

1963: Plans unveiled for Goldfields House
Goldfields House was located at the western end of Alfred Street. The building which dates to 1966, was demolished in 2016-2017 for the two tower 1 Alfred Street development.
In 2017, I shared clippings associated with its opening in 1966. Recently, I found an article from The Sydney Morning Herald from December 20 1963, when plans to build the tower were unveiled. The article and enlargement of the model appears.

Remember this? Ocean Outfalls Advertisement (1987)
The Water Board (Sydney Water) had newspaper advertisements published regularly through the late 1980's to inform Sydneysiders of the Deep Ocean Outfalls that were to be built to remedy the beach pollution that had become a daily part of life at Sydney's beaches.

They were completed by 1991 as planned and the promised improvement to water quality at Sydney beaches eventuated.
I do admire the illustrations that were used to explain how the deep ocean outfalls would work and yet kept it simple. One example from 1987 is shown below:
